"But let each one test his own work, and then his reason to boast will be in himself alone and not in his neighbor." — Galatians 6:4 (ESV)
Happy Wednesday. We are halfway through our study on comparison, and if you’re like me, the “Horizontal” world has already tried to steal your focus. We spend so much time looking sideways at the runners in the other lanes that we lose our own stride.
In today’s briefing, we are slowing down to look at the “Side-Eye”—that subtle, internal calculation we do when we measure our success against someone else’s highlight reel.
In this briefing, we cover:
(0:00) The Midweek Checkpoint: Where are you looking?
(1:54) Scripture: Galatians 6:4
(3:14) Understanding Your Unique Journey: The Goldsmith’s Test
(4:20) The side-eye syndrome: Judging God’s Cast
(5:44) Eyes Front: Embracing Your Path and Purpose
(6:27) Prayer of Realignment | Benediction
(8:08) End
A PRAYER FOR THE WEEK:
Heavenly Father, help me to keep my eyes on the lane You have assigned to me. Forgive me for the envy that masquerades as “inspiration.” Holy Spirit, please help me celebrate others' wins without feeling like they are my losses. I rest in the work you are doing in me, Father God, even when it is hidden.
In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
P.S. Get ready for Friday’s Deep Dive. We are going into the history of Saul's armor and why the "tech" of the” is often the very thing that slows us down. Plus, we will release the Week 7 Spirit Audit.
Walk Wisely,
